DIY Valentine Trees

February 7, 2019

This project is great for all ages! Its super simple and so cute.

Supplies:

  • Darn Good Yarn in pink and red
  • scissors
  • glue
  • markers (Karin markers are my favorite!!)
  • tape
  • styrofoam cone
  • paper
  • bobbypins

Step one: wrap trees

  • Begin Wrapping your trees with the yarn from the bottom to the top.
  • once you wrap it all the way to the top take your string and tape it to the tip of the cone.

Step two: make pom poms

  • Wrap the yarn around your fingers. I positioned my middle finger a tiny bit behind my other fingers so I could easily pull another string from the bottom and out the top to tie in a knot around my yarn.
  • Once it’s tied cut the excess string from the knot you tied around your yarn.
  • If you like the way the topper looked on the pink tree then stop here. If you like the topper on the red tree, then you will need to cut the yarn on the edges and fluff out your pom pom ball.

Step Three: Attach Tree Topper

  • Shove a bobby pin through the center of the pom pom.
  • Then push it into the top of your tree securing it to the top.

Step Four: Add Ornaments

  • I added the opposite color yarn to each sting to give it a garland look around my tree.
  • Next, I cut out paper Hearts for my ornaments.
  • I colored them with my favorite markers from Karin.
  • Then I glued them all over my tree.

Your Valentines tree’s are complete!
